November began for me with a slowly rising expectation, like the soothing opening of a familiar song. It's not really that hot anymore, and not quite cold, but the winds of change are blowing in the air, reminding me of winter in on the doorstep. Time to prepare for the cold season, for the convergence, the season where ideas will prosper and new beginnings will emerge.
There are some that "replace wardrobe'' in November. Bringing down their entire upper shelf that is packed with their winter goods that have been packed away for all those summer months. Others dust off their warm blankets and there are those who begin to bake.
At my place, as usual, my closet is already cluttered with both winter and summer clothes that have never been separated, because at the office it's cold throughout the whole year! (I told you before about guys and freezing rooms in summer). The doona worked overtime throughout the warm season, along with the air-conditioner, and unfortunately I don't really have time for baking.
But like Axl's bandana and Slash's famous hat, some things never change – I come home from work, make myself a Chai or porridge (to those of you who are scrunching your face in disgust…you have no idea what you're missing out on), sit next to a pile of magazines and start putting together my little list of happiness for winter. Clothes, handbags, shoes, books, movies and restaurants gather themselves slowly and become the rain that floods my thoughts.
This year, I decided to share with you all the November rain, in hope that after the rain a bright rainbow will shine over us all.

… And how can you go without my special vegan "Cloud" porridge recipe?
A total of 9:08 minutes (the length of a song) and you have a perfect meal –
1/3 cup oatmeal ("Quaker")
1 cup almond or soymilk
Pinch of salt
Stir for 5 minutes on low heat
Refrigerate, add banana, date honey, nuts and any other delicious garnish.
For those of you who prefer alcohol
here's the secret recipe for the Coffee bar restaurant's hot sangria –
1 bottle red wine (750 ml(
250 grams of white sugar
Sliced orange with peel
5 cinnamon sticks
2 stars Ennis
1 clove pod
Stir the sugar with wine and spices for about 10 minutes on low heat (Do not boil).
