Over the last couple of months I've been jumping between worlds and assessing my place in both of them – the Capital Market and the Fashion World.
Sometimes, I let myself dream and fantasize about "what would happen if…" but to be honest, my thoughts never wondered as far as the surprising and exciting events that happened this past week.
It all started with a phone call from Zedka Designs, who asked me to put together a fashionable concept and produce and model for their new PR and Marketing campaign. Though the surprises kept rolling in with a personal message from the President of Chloé Fashion House, which led on to an exciting meeting full of long and deep conversations with one of the most fascinating men I ever met. Thank god for the Internet!
I am yet to find an answer to the question of which of the worlds I like better, though, as time goes on, it seems that the distance between the two isn't so much East and West and the difference isn't so big.
The Fashion world, like the Capital Market, moves in cycles. Gains (like Magazine Covers) announce the rise of new trends. The new fashion trends quickly become popular and in demand and when the market becomes flooded and exploited, they take a dive and sometimes even disappear. Though there are those one-off trends that rise up quickly and also go out as fast as lightning while others manage to recover and pop back into our lives once in a while.
So whether you are a conservative investor or a venture-hungry speculator, if you choose to follow one of this Spring-Summer 2016's stand out trends and let your colleagues at work know that you're fashion forward and up-to-date, remember that a little hint from the leading trend will suffice.
… and a little tip to finish with – YELLOW! ;- )
