In the passing year, I’ve swapped the traditional office with the home office. The contracts and agreements have now become articles and photoshoots and even my clients are no longer investors and traders. Well… ok… except for one – Yael Glazer.
A dreamy brown eyed kid from the Kibbutz who teaches people how to make money on some of the world’s leading e-commerce sites – Ebay and Amazon, to say the least!
I met Yael a few months ago through a childhood friend who recommended that she come see me about personal styling as prep for a big conference that her company, Glazer Consulting, was having. After a short phone call where I introduced myself and offered Yael a perspective of the fashion world as a marketing and self-expression tool, we set up a meeting. At the meeting, it took very few minutes for me to understand that this smiling flower girl that came for a lesson in style, is none other than a strong, driven career woman and entrepreneur. For that, she got a direct ticket into my secret club of career women that are an inspiration to me.
Where will we find you every morning at 08:30?
"At that time I’m already in my car – my mobile office, after dropping off the kids at their schools and catching up with my team".
If you weren’t an entrepreneur and CEO of Glazer Consulting, you would for sure have been…?
"I would have, for sure, been an entrepreneur in a different field that would have a positive impact of the world and the environment. I have lived and breathed the entrepreneurship world since I was about 13 years old :-)
At that age, the Kibbutz I was living in was experiencing serious financial problems and my family needed to make do with a budget of 1,000 shekel per month. Needless to say, when it comes to a family of seven, like ours, we’re talking about a not-so-simple situation to be living in. Already since then, the entrepreneurship seed was planted and I started my journey. I wanted to be a business woman who travelled the world and carried a suitcase".
What is the most useful item in your wardrobe?
"Singlets with thin spaghetti straps. I fell in love with those this year".
What would you NEVER wear to work?
"High heels! Being comfortable is super important to me and for that I need shoes that will allow me to move from place to place, breathe, feel relaxed, happy and at the end of each day be able to also pick the kids up from school. So for the most part I will not wear high heeled shoes, only when it comes to special events or meetings".
Plastics, delivery or eating out?
"Going out for lunch. I really love eating at restaurants and discovering new places. So, if the opportunity presents itself to go out for lunch, I will take full advantage of it :-)
Don’t get me wrong, I know how to cook, but I like it best when someone else cooks for me".
Have you got a tip for managing a successful career?
"Planning, diligence and inspiring business models that help you achieve your goals".
Tip for managing a successful wardrobe?
"A meeting and styling sessions with Kochavit! :-)
A lot of basics and a few interesting fashionable items. Don’t get tempted to buy two similar items that you like".
Business venture in the Digital Field – Possible or Pretentious?
"Big time possible! Not only is it possible but the era we live in demands it! That’s how I started nine years ago – in sales at eBay and then at Amazon.
Research shows that in twelve years' time almost two billion jobs will disappear, what will require each and every one of us to find alternative income options. The digital world is the new "Market Place" that allows buying, selling and conducting business at the most advanced level possible".
