INSPIRATION, TRANSLATION AND OTHER STORIES

When I came up with EIGHT30, I wanted to open the doors to my world and create a space where career women can get inspiration and ideas for integrating fashion and style into their lifestyles. Since then, just like a fine Swiss watch, I’m writing, editing, shooting and producing content for you, in the hope that it touches you. I look for the exact look that will fit into the right scene and that tells an interesting story, from a slightly different perspective… simple ;-)

To this day, I haven’t exposed my creative and work process, except for little peeks and "behind the scenes" videos on my Instagram stories (if you’re not familiar with this concept yet, click on the profile picture of my Instagram account – you’ll discover a whole world of content). Though each "innocent" image has had hours of work invested in it, thought and discussions with Nimrod my photographer and prolonged staring into the distance (I wonder if you too stare in to the distance as you ponder?).

MASKIT

I went on vacation outside the city. Just like that. In the middle of the week.

I don’t know about you, but the thought of that even being possible, without booking time off in advance from work, without rescheduling meetings and starting to program my “out of office” messages, excites the hell out of me. I can’t remember the last time I answered “YES” to a spontaneous getaway, without using those awful pair of words "board meeting".

This whole occurrence was so unusual to the point where even Mrs. Waze didn’t believe her eyes when I input the destination – Moshav Liman, which is located along the coast of Western Galilee. I even had to stop twice (!) Just to make sure I was going in the right direction.

THE GLAMOROUS LIFE

We were out on a fashion shoot day.

By “we” I mean Nimrod – my good friend and the talented photographer who has been accompanying me in the past year, a bunch of garments, and myself.

As like any other shooting days, we decided to meet on a Friday morning (which is the career women's day off), when this time the purpose was to shoot a fashion production dedicated to Shavuot holiday.

I woke up at 05:30AM (it’s amazing how I jump out of bed like an Olympic athlete for shooting days while on other days the alarm clock is tired of playing the same sound and begs for me to wake up and get my buttocks towards the shower), styled my hair, slowly put on my makeup and then, just when I started feeling like a model, went to load our production equipment into my private vehicle… Oh definitely! This is what you call the glamorous life! ;- )

HOLIDAY INN

All the trees wore green and I wore jeans and a hat… Because I'M FINALLY ON VACATION!

How awesome is it to take a break and jump into weekend attire or the "Friday dress code" as I like to call it. Only those who work at a place that has a strict dress code will relate – There is one shelf, a small one, in my closet where my "freedom" clothes lay. The jeans, the singles, T-shirts and all my other favorite items that don't make it into the office.

During the week I find myself looking, and not just once, at that shelf and even incorporate one of those items with my tailored office look. Though there isn't a better feeling than packing your suitcase full of holiday clothes.

POSTCARDS

Once, we used to send postcards. Write ourselves in as neat handwriting as possible, and describe our great experiences reserved to distant lands, written on top of a spectacular and colorful image.
I spent the holiday break here in Tel Aviv, so I really wanted to write about my exciting experiences. About the city that swept me in and about the quiet, calm and rest that made my days so pleasant, but none of that really happened …
