Paris Fashion Week began for me with a breakup.
Although breakups always seem like a dramatic and intense experience, this breakup was optimistic and stirred up some curiosity. No, we’re not talking about a breakup from a lover or a sad event, we’re talking about the last fashion show for the creative director of Chloé fashion house, Clare Waight Keller.
Somewhere before all the Purim and International Women's Day celebrations, I flew to Paris Fashion Week. Remember? ;-)
The string of events and experiences, that adorned my days over the last few weeks, was so full on and in such intensity, that I haven’t even had a chance to take a moment and write about the amazing week my Sister and I had in the beautiful City of Lights.
call it curiosity, peeping, or even snooping, but between us, there is nothing more interesting than an exclusive glimpse into the fashion industry and a ticket to one of the most secretive and reserved areas – behind the scenes.
In the midst of Paris Fashion Week the guys from MAC Cosmetics gave me an impressive and remarkable experience, when they exposed me to their work and creative process at the Issey Miyake and Vivienne Westwood shows.
Paris Fashion Week ended, leaving behind a collection of experiences and memories that continue to echo in my head. One of the most pleasant and exciting surprises of my journey, was the Céline fashion show.
I made the decision to jump in with the big kids and go to Paris fashion week. A decision a little far-fetched, if you think about it, for someone who until a few months ago was a legal advisor at an investment house, and undoubtedly one of those challenges that only I can set myself and believe that they were actually possible to achieve.
It happened! Not a dream, not fiction or fantasy, but a true reality in a parallel universe – I went to Paris Fashion Week!
If someone would have told me a year ago that I would spend the holiday break checking out shows by fashion houses Chloé, Céline, Issey Miyake and Vivienne Westwood, chat with designers, photographers, magazine editors, and other pillars in the fashion industry, surely I would have laughed dismissively and gone straight back to my pile of chores and pressing tasks. But all of this and more has happened :- )
