INSPIRATION, TRANSLATION AND OTHER STORIES

When I came up with EIGHT30, I wanted to open the doors to my world and create a space where career women can get inspiration and ideas for integrating fashion and style into their lifestyles. Since then, just like a fine Swiss watch, I’m writing, editing, shooting and producing content for you, in the hope that it touches you. I look for the exact look that will fit into the right scene and that tells an interesting story, from a slightly different perspective… simple ;-)

To this day, I haven’t exposed my creative and work process, except for little peeks and "behind the scenes" videos on my Instagram stories (if you’re not familiar with this concept yet, click on the profile picture of my Instagram account – you’ll discover a whole world of content). Though each "innocent" image has had hours of work invested in it, thought and discussions with Nimrod my photographer and prolonged staring into the distance (I wonder if you too stare in to the distance as you ponder?).

THE LOOK, YES, WEEKEND!

MASKIT

I went on vacation outside the city. Just like that. In the middle of the week.

I don’t know about you, but the thought of that even being possible, without booking time off in advance from work, without rescheduling meetings and starting to program my “out of office” messages, excites the hell out of me. I can’t remember the last time I answered “YES” to a spontaneous getaway, without using those awful pair of words "board meeting".

This whole occurrence was so unusual to the point where even Mrs. Waze didn’t believe her eyes when I input the destination – Moshav Liman, which is located along the coast of Western Galilee. I even had to stop twice (!) Just to make sure I was going in the right direction.

SWEATER WEATHER

Morning. The Chanel Post is up and running.

I’m filled with pride, but am also totally stressed and full of expectations mixed with tiredness, after many full-on exhausting days… But hey! at least I have great make up to hide the little dark bags under my eyes ;- )

Outside is stormy and rainy – a perfect scene for drama.

I fixed myself a cup of coffee, sat down and with a sigh I thought to myself – what next? where do we go from here?

RED HOT

There are things that I guess I would never be able to understand. Such as the male brain for example.

I’ll give you an example – you got up in the morning, got ready, really put some effort in, wore your most fashionable outfit and went to work. At the corner coffeeshop you met your friend. He took a long glance at you and… the best line he managed to get out was something to do with a soccer team?! Unbelievable!

You’re convinced that your red top is a symbol for femininity and seduction and all he sees is that you’re a Manchester United fan. Go figure :- )

VELVET CRUSH

You know that moment when you look at a picture from your past, embarrassed and say to yourself "My god, I can't believe I once looked like that?"

I'll give you a hint, it's usually the picture from some school party, an overnight trip or a family event, those you prepared for, and spent time, hours and thoughts in front of the mirror.

I have a few pictures like that, but the most memorable one, is the one most taken, during my recruitment party for the army – dressed in a purple, velvet maxi dress, brown colored lipstick, long hair and thin eyebrows, you can't get anymore embarrassing than that! By the way, for years that miserable picture was shown to every passerby in my dad's office (dad if you haven't destroyed it yet, this is the time to do so).

What was I thinking when I put together that heavy look?! There's no way that I actually thought I looked fashionable and cool… but then velvet came back to my life.
